1971
I was born. Probably not the best idea I've ever had, but then again, it wasn't really my idea, was it? My parents decided it would be a really Cool Thing if my name rhymed, so they named me Celine McLean. Sheesh.
1974
Instead of the kitten I wanted, my parents brought me home a little sister. Just to confuse people they named her Celeste. People still can't remember which sister belongs to what name. Sometimes it's funny, but most times it's just confusing.
1975
I enter kindergarten at an all-girls private, catholic school which I would attend through my senior year. I think it greatly affected my development as a human being. I was already reading by this time which, I think, greatly contributed to my anti-social bookwork persona later in life.
1980
My parents did it again. Instead of the really cool toys my sis and I asked for for Christmas, they brought us home a little brother. Unable to think of any decent C names for boys (I suggested Cecil and Cedric, but got vetoed) they named him Evans. Much of my free time after this was spent taking care of him.
1985
Entered high school at the aforementioned institution. Still mostly an anti-social bookworm, but had friends who shared that social handicap. We hung out together. I was extremely into Heavy Metal, especially Metallica, although I did like the 80s big hair bands like Bon Jovi, Poison and G&R. I knew who the real musicians were, though.
1989
Graduated from High School and entered the University of Hawaii. I wanted to go away to college, but my father asked me to stay. Yup, I'm a daddy's girl. I also began working with the KOKUA Program at the University assisting students with disabilities, and learned how to braille.
1993
Spent a semester studying abroad at the University of London. Of course, we mostly messed around and travelled, but we got credit for it. Also visited Paris, Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. It was a blast!
1994
Graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature (and minors in Spanish and History) after changing majors three times (hence the minors). I also moved to Port Angeles, Washington where my mother had relocated.
1995-1997
Spent most of my life at the University of Washington in the Graduate Program pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Medieval English Literature. When I wasn't doing that, I was participating in the Society for Creative Anachronism. After graduating in June, I got a job as a temporary at Microsoft doing Customer Service work and have since been searching for a Real Job. I lived in Bellevue with my roommate Justin and tried to learn how to fence.
1998
Among other exciting things, moved to Orlando, Florida just because I felt my life in Seattle was getting too dull. Actually, I just felt that a change would do me some good and so am hanging out in Sunny Florida for the winter before heading back to Seattle some time next year. Maybe.
1999
I finally made it back to Seattle! After much moping and angst-ridden emails to friends and family, I decided that Orlando was, in fact, not the place for me, and returned to the Emerald City. I currently work at The Pixel Company and am trying to write more.
Sheesh. That's a lot of information. If you still want to know more, or perhaps would like to get to know me personally, go ahead and drop me a line.
